Acceptanceof Articles(A Guide for the Authors)

 

The FLH’s Scientific – Research Journal of Iranian Studies concerns history, culture, language, literature and civilization of IRAN and isat least being published twice a year.

General featuresofacceptedarticle

  • The article must be obtained out of the author’s (or authors’) researches and should not be published in any other journals, and as long as theprocess of judgmentinthismagazinehas not ended, it should not be submittedtoothers. 

  • Every article includes atitle, an abstract,keywords(5 to 7words), an introduction,a mainbody,a discussion,a conclusion, andreferences. Through a word format, it should be printed 24 lines per page on a 30 Í 21 centimeters sheet with B Nazanin font (and Times New Roman for English-written articles) in size of 13, and themargins of 5 cm (on top and bottom of the page) and 4.5 cm (on left and right of the it), and then should be sent to the e-mail address of jiranic@ut.ac.irwith a Pdf file of it. The font size of Abstract and Keywords should be 10. In addition any Persian article should have an English abstract written with the font of Times New Roman in size 0f 12 with 250 words in maximum. The author’s (authors’) name, his (their) academic rank(s), the name of the university (universities) he is (they are) teaching in or has (have) been instructed in, and his (their) e-mail (s) and call-numbers should be inserted on a separate paper or file.

  • The article size, including allits componentsmust notbemore than 24 pages.

  • The abstract, including the expression of the problem, the purpose of the article, the research methodology and findings, should provide the reader an overall image of article over 300 words.

  • The introduction to the article should include a subject, a record of the research and a theoretical basis on which the research had been conducted and should represent the overall image of the article.

  • Different parts of the article should be numbered separately. The article starts with introduction as the first part. The title of each part (or each of subdivisions) should be written in bold font with a single-line space. The first line of each part, unlike other first lines of that paragraph should not begin indented. 

  • Each of subdivisions should not exceed more than three layers; such as 3-1-4.

  • The Latin equivalent of specialized words or any lesser known character should be written in footnotes with the font of Times New Roman in size of 10. Except for the proper names and the names of grammatical rules, all other parts of footnotes begin with small letters. 

  • Footnotes on each page start with number 1, and the author (authors) should avoid making much more footnotes in his (their) articles.

  • If unfamiliar abbreviations would be used in the article, they should be listed in footnotes before their first use.

  • If the author (authors) of the article has (have) benefited the financial resources of a specific organization or institution, or if he (they) want to thank those who assisted him (them) to prepare the article, he (they) should point the matter in the first footnote with no number.

  • In preparation of tree-diagrams and the likes, the tools of Draw, Table and Equation should be used in word-viewer to avoid the problems may exist in adjusting the final version. All examples, tables and images should be numbered sequentially.

  • DoulusSil IPA font version should be used in data phonology writings related to unfamiliar languages or dialects.

  • For references, the following conditions should be considered:

  • If the name of an author has been pointed out in the text, the year of the work publication would be brought in parenthesis;

  • If the author intends to refer to a specific page of the work, the page number would be inserted in parenthesis after (:) mark;

  • If the author’s name is not affirmed in the text, it should be mentioned in parenthesis;

  • If a work has more than one volume, the number of the volumesshould be mentioned after the name of the author before (:) mark. 

  • Directquotationsthataremore thanthree linesshould beseparated fromthe main text,indentedone centimeteron each sidewith the samefontin size of10. The name of the work’s author and the year it has been published should be inserted after the quotations, then the page number on which the quotation is obtained should be inserted after a (:) mark.

  • Separately, in an alphabetical order, the Persian and Latin sources should be indexed at the end of the article. The name of the author should be given completely in Persian sources with no dot after. Look at the following examples:

Translated works

Surname of the author, Name of the author. (theyear of publication). Name of the work in Iranic, name of the translator, the place in which the translated form has been published: name of the publisher.

 

Websites

Surname of the author, Name of the author. The title of the article or the book has been used (in italicized form), the website address.

  • Avoid numbering bibliographic entries or inserting any dashes before them.

If the name of a work covers more than one line in the sources index, the next lines should be longer than the text 1 centimeter using Tab button.

The editor would be free to edit the articles literally and technically, with no changes in its contents. 

All articles aresubject to theapproval ofthe journal jury.
