Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric
The quarterly Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric, published by the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran, is a scientific journal in the fields of literary criticism and rhetoric, released in four issues annually (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). Criticism is one of the most fascinating and significant domains within literature. The Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric operates with a focus on literary criticism, giving particular attention to articles in this field that are written with scientific and research-based content. Critical articles should essentially articulate the distinguishing features and specific merits of the work under study in such a way as to reveal the artistic individuality and creative value of the text within literary history or within a literary work itself. The journal welcomes submissions structured in this manner. Among the journal's aims is the advancement of criticism and rhetoric in the Persian language, and it seeks to publish articles on topics such as narrative structure analysis in novels, story morphology, imagistic criticism, formalist analysis, and psychological criticism from the perspectives of Freud, Jung, Lacan, and others.
Journal History
The Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran is a scientific-research journal published four times a year. Based on Directive No. 589884/18/3 dated March 15, 2014, from the National Commission for the Review of Scientific Publications, the journal holds a scientific-research grade. Articles in this field were previously published under the Journal of the Faculty of Literature. Later, with the increasing specialization of journals and the publication of the Persian Literature Journal, the faculty's professors recognized the need for a dedicated journal in the field of literary criticism. To address this necessity, the Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric was launched with an approach focusing on narrative structure analysis in novels, story morphology, imagistic criticism, formalist analysis, and psychological criticism from the perspectives of Freud, Jung, Lacan, and others. The journal first published its inaugural specialized issue in the spring and summer of 2012 under the editorship of Dr. Mahmoud Fazilat and the managing editorship of Dr. Gholamhossein Karimi Dostan. Currently, the journal continues its work under the editorship of Dr. Ruhollah Hadi, the managing editorship of Dr. Javad Asghari, and the internal management of Ms. Maryam Moghadam.
