Abstract
Through a descriptive and content analysis method, it has been tried in present paper, to review, compare and criticize several different opinions of specialists about the entrance of allegorical metaphor into Arabic and Persian rhetoric from beginning up to now. The results of the research show that the rhetoricians have four essential viewpoint about the quality and quantity of allegorical metaphor in addition to their differences on naming and their delirious remarks about the definition of its examples. The first viewpoint seems being correct and corresponds with the naming due to the word allegory and its meanings; However, in order to get rid of all these naming and distortions, it is suggested to accept detailing where compound allegory is permitted or it is so-called abstracted from several affairs; and calling it a compound allegory is suggested if the relation between the term and its second meaning is inconsistent; and an allegoric metaphor if the relation between the term and its second meaning is consistent or the phrase is a proverb or a proverb-like sentence; and a compound metaphor if the phrase isn't a proverb or a proverb-like sentence.
