Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric

The quarterly Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric, published by the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran, is a scientific journal in the fields of literary criticism and rhetoric, published in four issues per year (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). Criticism is one of the most interesting and significant domains within literature. The Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric operates with a focus on literary criticism and welcomes articles in this field that are written with scientific and research-oriented content. Critical articles should essentially represent the distinctive features and specific merits of a work in such a way as to highlight the artistic individuality and creative value of the text within literary history or within a literary work. The journal welcomes submissions that adhere to this framework.

Important Notes for Authors:

  • The journal will charge a fee after the review process and for article publication. However, republication of information from this website is free provided the source is cited.

  • In accordance with the request of the National Commission for Scientific Publications, registration and display of a free ORCID iD and the use of an institutional/university email address are mandatory for article authors. Therefore, respected authors are requested to obtain their ORCID iD and institutional/university email address before submitting articles to the journal.

  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author of the article must be a faculty member of a university, center, or research institute. Submission of the article is free, but a written confirmation letter from the author and the forms below must accompany the submission. PhD or Master's students alone cannot be the corresponding author. The corresponding author is determined based on mutual agreement among the authors. Responsibility for ensuring the absence of plagiarism, data fabrication, and misuse of AI lies with the article authors.

Required Files and Forms (to be submitted via the article submission system):

  1. Main Article File (anonymous, without author names, and formatted according to the journal's template/guidelines). (Refer to the Author Guidelines section).

  2. Title Page File containing author details.

  3. Commitment Form (must include the article title and the full names of all authors, and be signed by all authors). (Refer to the Author Guidelines section).

  4. Conflict of Interest and Authorship Contribution Form (must be signed by the corresponding author and uploaded along with the article file). (Refer to the Author Guidelines section).

Article Format: The final version of the article, after completing the review and acceptance stages, must be submitted in the journal's article template. Otherwise, it will not be processed. (Refer to the Author Guidelines section).


Note: For finally accepted articles, authors must prepare, in addition to the short English abstract, an extended English abstract of 1000 to 1200 words and include it in the article according to the sample template. This should be submitted along with other supplementary files via the journal's system. AI can be used for editing the English abstract for the purpose of reviewing spelling, grammar, and text rewriting.

The Journal of Literary Criticism and Rhetoric charges 1,500,000 Rials as a review fee during the initial review stage. If the article is accepted, an additional 4,500,000 Rials will be charged as a publication fee (total: 6,000,000 Rials). Therefore, upon notification from the journal office, the mentioned amount must be paid via the online portal available in the system.
